Children in Need
On Friday 20th November 2009, 7.00 pm, we are holding a Charity Auction, Raffle, Tombola, and Stand up Bingo, with JEDI DISCO, at Great Harwood Cricket Club.

Tickets £5.00, Children under 7 £2.50. Potato pie supper included. All proceeds to Children in Need.

"The Bird's-Eye Bible"
Can’t tell Cain from Abel? Worried about the Bible's violent bits? Wonder about Jonah’s whale or David’s affairs? We will be taking a fresh (not frozen) 5-week tour of the Old Testament with talks, discussion and daily Bible passages so you can take things further.

Meetings will be held in Church on Tuesday 13th and 20th October at 7.45 pm (God’s people - parts 1 and 2), then for the next 3 Tuesdays from 10th November (Prophets, Wise and Singers). Everyone welcome.

Ecumenical prayer meetings
These meetings will be held at 1.30 pm on the 3rd Monday of every month at Central Methodist Church. Dates are:
16th November and 21st December.

 

 

Parish Scrapbook
When sorting out the Parish Office I have found books relating to events and special occasions for people of the Parish.  For various reasons, this has not been completed for the past year or two. I would like to start once more keeping these records - it was so nice to browse through and brought back many memories of Parish life.

If you or group are holding an event, going on an outing, or perhaps the uniformed organisations going on camp, can you please let me have a photo of the activity only 1 or 2 for as you know we are short of storage space but it will be a record for future generations!

Parish Logo
The Communications Group want a new Church Logo for Letterheads, publicity, etc. Ideally it:

  • Should be recognisably Harwood ( the clock tower is the only thing that comes to mind instantly – can you do better?)
  • Should be recognisably Christian (but not specifically either of our buildings)
  • Needs to reproduce well in black and white and colour, and on our fast copier which doesn’t do subtle tones!
