Sundays at 8.30 am (for 45–50 minutes)Quiet Communion A reflective service using a modern language form ("Common Worship Order 1") with a sermon; children and young people are welcome, but there is no special provision for them. Sundays at 10.00 am (for 60–75 minutes)Celebration Communion A less formal service for all ages using a modern language form ("Common Worship Order 1") with a sermon and hymns, songs, and Communion music (a mixture of traditional and modern). On the 3rd Sunday of each month, this service becomes our All-Age Communion and Parade service, with a shortened service, an interactive address for all ages, and (mostly) modern music There are "church bags" for younger children, to help them feel involved, and a crèche facility for when they need a break. We are redeveloping our provision for children and young people; they are also welcome to our midweek Smartie Club and Time Out Club or to "Together" After School Church at St John's School (scroll down).
Wednesdays at 10.00 am (for 40 minutes)Quiet Communion Similar to Sunday, but with a smaller congregation; coffee is served afterwards.
Wednesdays at 3.15 pm (6.15pm once a month)
"Together" After School Church in St John's School Hall. Term-time only Contact: Margaret Dugdale (01254 883129) The idea of ‘Together’ is that people of all ages, 0–90, and backgrounds can meet together to learn more about the Christian faith and can join together in praise and worship. At ‘Together’ we try to bring fun into learning about the Christian faith and in worshipping God. Once a month for a trial period, Together After School Church moves to the evenings (6.15-7.15pm with refreshments at the end) as a service for parents and children together. It's still at St John's School, and we hope to develop it in the "Messy Church" format which is so popular across the country. Next on 11 January 2012. Special ServicesWe arrange evening services in various styles to mark key festivals in the Christian calendar. We also join with the other Churches in the Ecumenical Partnership for occasional Sunday evening services, and take part in special services arranged by Churches Together in Great Harwood. Transport to Church We are delighted to arrange transport for those unable to reach church unaided. Please contact the Parish Office. |
