Teamwork at St. Bartholomew's
The PCC sub committees were set up several years
ago as an action plan for parish development, arising from our
parish vision. These groups are known to us as our 'Vision Groups'.
They meet regularly and report back to the PCC on their progress.
This group is concerned with the
care, maintenance and development of the church building, considering
the needs and activities of the church community. Health and safety
and security issues are discussed.

The wealth group monitors the PCC finances,
the planned giving scheme and gift aid.

The wisdom group aims to develop opportunities
for growth in the Christian faith for all ages, encouraging people
to develop themselves through study and reflection on the Christian
faith. The group meets to discuss how we can make study groups
or courses available to the people in our parish.

We hope to renew our vision in the coming year
as we work our way through the Bishop's Mission Action Plan (MAP).
The vicar and the pastoral visiting team
make up this group. The group is concerned with developing the pastoral
ministry in the church, supporting the bereaved, the sick, the lonely,
young families, newcomers and any others who need our support. Together
the group members have studied books on listening, the healing ministry
and are currently working through a book on bereavement.

Assistant
This group looks at different aspects
of church communications, external, internal, the media, the parish
magazine, newsletters, notices, and much more. All these are part
of how the church presents itself, proclaims its beliefs and communicates
about being the people of God.
