Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day

Thanks to our parishioner Rachel Shovelton and daughters Abigail and Megan for coming up with a great idea to use the old church cups by making some great Cappuccino style cup cakes. Some of our congregation who purchased these yummy cakes were asked to write a mother’s name on the front to remember all our loving mum’s or a family member on Mother’s Day. It was suggested you could fill the cups with an Easter decoration to bring to the forthcoming Easter Sunday church service on Sunday 21st April at 10am.

It was a lovely Mother’s Day service given by a retiring vicar of over 60 years service, Mr Alfred Graham of 86 years young, who enjoyed sharing in his last service as he now goes on to enjoy his full retirement in Clitheroe close to his family, but we hope to see him at one of our future services when our new Vicar Graham Birch and family arrive in June. All the ladies of the church were given our usual bunch of daffodils and Mother’s Day prayer card by some of the children and wished a Happy Mother’s Day.
