Two members of our Mothers’ Union branch received long service awards at the Mothers’ Union Deanery Festival held on Wednesday 6th May at St Cuthberts Church, Darwen: Kay Whitney 30 years and Elaine Birtwistle 50 years.

It is a 150 years since Mother’s Union was formed and a prayer baton has been going round the York Provence. The baton was received  recently into the Blackburn Diocese and has gone around the Deaneries with Mother’s Union branches. We raised £450 from Lent Lunches and as requested the money went towards baby products for our local food bank.   Thanks to Tesco for donating food towards the lunches. The staff at the food bank and all who helped prepare and serve the lunches at church.  

Merry Christmas to everyone. Join us for a Crib Service at 6:00pm or Midnight service at 11:45pm on Christmas Eve.    

The Church will be open Saturday 2nd December 2pm – 4pm and Sunday 3rd December 12pm – 4pm for anyone to come in and view the Christmas Decorations. Donations of cakes will be gratefully received for Refreshments to be served.
